 ****Update****

Thank you Churchill community.  We had the best year on record for Jump Rope for Heart donations. As a community, we were able to rasie $2564!!! WAY TO GO!!!

The last few weeks we have been busy jumping and learning. Jump Rope for Heart is a great organization that helps raise money for the American Heart Association. With your help, the money raised goes toward research and development for cures, treatments, and new tests that will one day help eliminate heart disease. We have also been learning about the heart’s functions as well as lifestyle choices that affect the heart. We learned that smoking, poor diet, drinking alcohol, and not exercising all have negative consequences on our hearts. To everyone helping raise money for this great cause, THANK YOU!!!

I wanted to thank everyone that participated in the Turkey Trot this afternoon. Despite the snow, sleet, and freezing wind, our kids were troopers! Through their food donations, we were able to collect 196 items with a total weight of 192 pounds for the District 54 food pantry. What an amazing sign of generosity exhibited by our families. I am positive that many families will benefit from these donations this holiday season. More photos will be uploaded as I receive them.

Posted October 26th, 2011 by Mr. Wroblewski

Our first cross country meet against MacArthur School was a huge success! We are so very proud of everyone that came to participate and support the event. Between the two schools, we had over 50 5th/6th graders run the mile on Tuesday, October 25th.

Stay tuned…pictures of the event are coming soon!

Turkey Trot

Posted October 24th, 2011 by Mr. Wroblewski

Due to daylight savings ending, we will begin and end the race earlier. The start time will be 4:00 pm and the race will end at 5:00 pm.

Churchill will be hosting its inaugural Turkey Trot at the Eisenhower track on November 10th. The purpose of the run is to raise food donations for the District 54 Food Pantry. I feel that being RESPECTFUL & RESPONSIBLE not only applies to the classroom, but also to our community. With the tough economic times we are facing, now is a great time to help out the less fortunate. You can download a permission slip by clicking here:Turkey Trot

If you cannot run but would still like to help, you can do so by donating a non-perishable item. Please feel free to stop by my office with any donations.

Spectators are always welcomed!!!
