The Churchill Pride – May 28, 2018
Dear Churchill community,
It is so hard to believe that this is the last week of the school year. We would like to take this moment to thank you for your partnership. Our children have accomplished so much this year. This was done through a strong home / school relationship, which you have supported throughout the school year. The Churchill staff has such a strong sense of ChurchillPride for who our students have become, as well as who they will become.
It is with our greatest sense of gratitude that we say thank you for entrusting us with your child throughout the year. We hope that you have a great summer and look forward to supporting you and your child in their continued growth during the 2018-19 school year.

Carol Novak, Assistant Principal

On Friday, May 18th, we distributed the yearbooks which were pre-purchased.
We do have a limited supply of yearbooks for purchase on a first come first served basis, while supplies last. Please bring $20 cash or check (Churchill PTA) with child’s name, teachers name, room number to the office.
Our Field Day event will take place on Thursday. The forecast is partly sunny and 89 degrees. Please remember to have your child wear appropriate running clothes, gym shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle. You should also apply sun protection lotion on your child before sending them to school. Please know that we will not have sunscreen available.
Our student report cards will be able to be viewed on Thursday through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Please call the office if you need help setting up an account.
Our student MAP Results will be sent home with your child on Thursday. We are very proud of the growth that our children have achieved this year!
District 54 Virtual Learning University:
Are you searching for an innovative way to empower your children over the summer? Are you looking for a comprehensive approach to summer learning that combats boredom and keeps everyone engaged? Look no further! We have created a new website with a wide range of challenges at each grade level to help prevent the summer slide. Visit the School District 54 Virtual Learning University to tackle challenges for literacy, math, science, social science, language and culture too! Each content area has multiple challenges to keep your children’s minds focused and active throughout the summer weeks! Within each category you will find family activities, individual activities and places to visit in our community and surrounding areas. We hope you’ll encourage your children to visit our Virtual Learning University often throughout the summer to challenge themselves and to keep your family learning together. Click here to access the Virtual Learning University or find the link under Popular Links on the District 54 website.
Although our children won’t be in school again until August, there are still so many ways that they can continue to learn. Earlier last week your child brought home the Churchill Summer Challenge handout. This is a fun was for our children to be encouraged to continue to learn through the summer months. Academics is important, however fitness is equally important to focus on. We have added to the summer challenge a fitness component. We hope that you and your child enjoy completing the Summer Challenge. This is intended to last throughout the whole summer. Please encourage your child to not rush through the packet.
