The Churchill Pride – June 4, 2018

Good afternoon Churchill,

We can’t believe that the school year is already over.  This year has absolutely flown by. However, Churchill is not a quiet place.  Currently the construction crews have started to move in so that they can complete the interior work. The school is going to be so beautiful when we return in August.

It has been our pleasure to work with you this year. We can’t wait to see them back in August to hear all about your summer adventures!

District 54 Virtual Learning University:

Are you searching for an innovative way to empower your children over the summer? Are you looking for a comprehensive approach to summer learning that combats boredom and keeps everyone engaged? Look no further! We have created a new website with a wide range of challenges at each grade level to help prevent the summer slide. Visit the School District 54 Virtual Learning University to tackle challenges for literacy, math, science, social science, language and culture too!  Each content area has multiple challenges to keep your children’s minds focused and active throughout the summer weeks! Within each category you will find family activities, individual activities and places to visit in our community and surrounding areas.  We hope you’ll encourage your children to visit our Virtual Learning University often throughout the summer to challenge themselves and to keep your family learning together. Click here to access the Virtual Learning University or find the link under Popular Links on the District 54 website.

Summer Challenge

Although our children won’t be in school again until August, there are still so many ways that they can continue to learn. Earlier last week your child brought home the Churchill Summer Challenge handout. This is a fun was for our children to be encouraged to continue to learn through the summer months. Academics is important, however fitness is equally important to focus on. We have added to the summer challenge a fitness component. We hope that you and your child enjoy completing the Summer Challenge.  This is intended to last throughout the whole summer. Please encourage your child to not rush through the packet.

Meet the Churchill Team for 2018-19

Although the multigrade configuration has provided amazing opportunities for our staff and students over the years, next year at Churchill Elementary School we will be reorganizing our classrooms into a straight grade level structure.

We are always sad to see members of the Churchill staff leave and move on to new adventures for next year. We wish the following staff members the best as they transition into new positions outside of Churchill: Mrs. Heffernan, Mrs. Pollastrini.

Below you will see the Churchill team for the 2018-19 school year:
