#ChurchillPride – March 4, 2019

Good morning Churchill community,

Last week was another great week at Churchill! Throughout all District 54 schools we are celebrating the month of March as Happiness month! On Friday, we kicked off Happiness month cheering for our students and sharing a Happiness calendar filled with many fun activities.  Please check out the attached calendar to help you and your child plan ahead for our Happiness celebrations and spreading joy to others!

As you know, throughout the year we practice each of our emergency preparedness drills. Through practice, our staff and students learn how to quickly and safely respond to situations. On Thursday, we were able to practice the Shelter in Place Drill.  A Shelter in Place Drill is used when there is the threat of severe weather. During this practice drill we reviewed with the students where to go and how to get onto the floor into a safe position. This is also a great time for families to review Shelter in Place procedures at home as well. You can find more information about shelter in place recommendations by going to

Our students did an outstanding job of following teacher directions and practicing this drill! Have a great week!

Fit Fam: How to Get the Whole Family Moving Together – March 13

Rethink your idea of what exercise is! A workout doesn’t have to mean running laps or lifting weights. Exercise is leading an active lifestyle, which you can do with your kids, and you’ll be able to fit in more than you think. As a bonus, exercise with family will double as quality time. Let these creative ideas help you turn everyday into an opportunity to get fit — and have fun — together. This event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Lakeview Elementary School, 615 Lakeview Lane, Hoffman Estates. Fit Fam flyer
