#ChurchillPride – March 11, 2019

Good morning Churchill community,

This has been another amazing week at Churchill!  Staff and students have been enjoying the FUN activities on our Happiness Calendar this month.  We ended the week on Friday with an all school dance party! It was definitely one of our peak moments this year to see everyone dancing and laughing together.

Friday also marked the end of our second trimester.  We are extremely proud of our students and all the great gains they have made so far.   We look forward to what is still to come as we head into our final semester of the year.

Have a great week!

Student Safety on the Side Streets

In order to keep our children safe we would like to remind you to drive slowly when near our school. We know that many parents are dropping students off on the side streets.  Please help to ensure that all of our children arrive safely to school by driving slowly and looking for children.

This is also a good time to remind your child(ren) that they should be looking both ways before crossing the street and only crossing at marked crosswalks.

Parking Lot Safety

Our parking lot is CLOSED for student drop off during arrival 8:25-8:40a.m. and for student pick up during dismissal 2:45-3:10p.m.  If you are in the parking lot during these times, you must remain in the parking lot until ALL of the busses have pulled out of our lot safely. Parents can park on the streets near Churchill School but please be cognizant of the No Parking signs in the area.

End of Trimester 2

Friday marked the end of the 2nd trimester. Our hope is that through the parent portal, you have been able to keep up to date with your child’s grades since conferences.  You will be able to access the 2nd trimester report cards through the portal on March 20.

Registration for 2019-20

Registration for the 2019/2020 school year will be available through the parent portal starting Monday, April 1, 2019.

If you do not have a parent portal account, you will receive an email on March 15 with instructions and a link to do so.

Beginning this year, the district is contracting with a third-party vendor to automatically verify student address information. If your residency is verified electronically, you will not need to submit any additional paperwork to certify that you live within the district’s boundaries. To verify residency, the vendor will use a parent’s name and address to crosscheck the information against electronic databases from other organizations, such as utility companies.

We anticipate most addresses will be verified electronically. If we cannot verify your address electronically, we will send you a letter detailing what additional information you will need to provide in order to register your child for the upcoming school year.

Spirit Wear Orders – You still have time to purchase!

You too can purchase spirit wear from our amazing vendor Waist Up Imprinted Sportswear. For the next two weeks you can order online by going to Orders will be fulfilled after the two week sales window closes. The window for online orders will close at midnight on Monday March 11th. Orders made will be sent home with the children.

Fit Fam: How to Get the Whole Family Moving Together – March 13

Rethink your idea of what exercise is! A workout doesn’t have to mean running laps or lifting weights. Exercise is leading an active lifestyle, which you can do with your kids, and you’ll be able to fit in more than you think. As a bonus, exercise with family will double as quality time. Let these creative ideas help you turn everyday into an opportunity to get fit — and have fun — together. This event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Lakeview Elementary School, 615 Lakeview Lane, Hoffman Estates. Fit Fam flyer
