#ChurchillPride – September 20, 2019

Dear Churchill Community,

We have had another ROAR-tastic week here at Churchill! Our students started the year working on the first “R” in ROAR. Respect is a cornerstone for how we should interact with each other. Respect for our differences, respect for our opinions and respect for our individual likes and dislikes are just a few of the ways that we each show the R in ROAR!. Our students demonstrate each day how they show respect to their peers, their teachers and themselves. We are Churchill hear us ROAR!

Here are a few announcements for the week. Have a great weekend!

Picture Day

Churchill’s picture day is coming soon. Picture day will be Friday, September 27. Check with your child to see if they have the form still in their backpack.

PTA Hot Lunch and Memberhub

Our PTA has worked hard to create a hot lunch program for our students. We know that students, and parents look forward to this event occuring every other week. At this point the paper registration for hot lunch has ended. However, you can still register your child for hot lunch by going online. For the rest of this semester we will not be able to take cash or checks, however you can pay with a credit card on Memberhub.

Registration for the second semester of hot lunch will take place in January. At that time you will be able to purchase online or on paper with cash or check.

Birthday Treats

A child’s birthday can be an exciting time of the year for them. Many Churchill students experience food allergies and have food restrictions. As a school we continue to recognize student birthdays within the classroom in many ways. If you would still like to send in something please send ONLY NON-FOOD items for your child to share with his/her classmates. Some examples of non-food items are: stickers, bookmarks, pencils, fun items found at dollar stores, snap bracelets, post-its, erasers, or a donated book or game to the classroom in their honor

Any edible treats brought to school will be sent to the office for parents to pick up. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping Churchill School a safe and healthy place for all of our students.

Schaumburg Parent University – September classes

Schaumburg Parent University (SPU) is designed to involve more parents in the life of the school, to strengthen family relationships, and to improve parenting skills that will ultimately result in improved student success academically, socially and emotionally.
