Hello Fantastic Churchill Community!

The energy across our building during this first week was nothing short of electric. From our very first drop-off, our hallways were filled with bright smiles, happy reunions, and the unmistakable buzz of a new adventures.

Our students hit the ground running—reconnecting with old friends, warmly welcoming new classmates, and getting comfortable in their new learning environments. Beyond settling into classroom routines, getting to know their teachers, and previewing the exciting grade-level learning ahead, our focus this week was on setting a strong foundation for our entire school community. Across every classroom, playground, hallway, and cafeteria, we practiced what it truly means to be safe, respectful, and responsible in everything we do.

To cap off this incredible week of character building, we brought the entire school together for an unforgettable assembly with BMX National Champion, X Games medalist, and motivational speaker Matt Wilhelm. Matt blew our students away with his jaw-dropping bike stunts, but the true impact came from his powerful message. He shared his personal story of growing up, overcoming adversity, and how small acts of kindness transformed his life. Matt challenged our Lions to embrace a growth mindset—reminding us that practice and hard work beat talent alone, and that when we struggle with something new, we simply haven't mastered it "yet". Most importantly, he spoke about how every single student has the power to make someone else feel valuable through everyday kindness.

I am proud of ow our students showed up ready to learn, care for one another, and lead by example. Thank you for your continued partnership and support at home as we launch into a wonderful school year ahead.

Have a great weekenend,

Ken Haase, Principal and Steph Villanova, Asst. Principal
