Halloween is upon us! We will be celebrating with an outdoor parade and small classroom parties on Thursday, October 31st. In an effort to help families plan for the Halloween fun, please read through the information outlined below.
Costumes:
All costumes must be school appropriate. The expectations for everyday dress are applied to costumes. No look-a-like weapons of any kind are allowed as part of a costume. No gore, blood, or “scary” costumes. Costumes can be worn to school on the 31st, or students will dress in their classrooms following the lunch hour. Due to limited time, students will not be changing at school. Therefore, costumes must be ones which can be put on over a student’s regular clothes.
Parties:
We will be having classroom parties this year! Please do not send in any edible treats with your child for their class party or for students to take home. Any food items sent to school will be returned with your child. Thank you for helping to ensure our students’ safety.
Parade:
The parade will be livestreamed on Facebook for you to enjoy remotely. You are also welcome to view the parade, which will take place on the blacktop in the back of the school. Join us on the back blacktop anywhere on the inside of the cones and enjoy the parade around the perimeter of the blacktop as long as there is no rain. If it rains, we will ask that all spectators join Facebook for a livestream. The parade will begin at door 14 and we will exit the building to the right toward the playground. Enjoy the show!
Festivities Schedule:
1:15-1:45 All school Halloween parade around the blacktop perimeter. The parade will be livestreamed on Facebook for you to enjoy remotely. Please see the Churchill Facebook page to join the fun. If it rains, we will ask that all spectators join Facebook for a livestream.
1:45-2:45 Classroom Parties. PTA Room Parents will reach out to each classroom group. To ensure school safety, only parents pre-arranged to volunteer will be permitted to enter the school.
