Hello Fantastic Churchill Community!
We’ve officially hit the triple digits! Our Lions had lots of fun celebrating their 100th day of school, and the energy in our hallways was absolutely electric. While this milestone is a fun tradition involving creative costumes and collections of 100 items, it also serves as a wonderful vantage point to look back at how much our students have grown since August.
Math has really come alive this year with our new math curriculum. Students aren’t just solving equations, they have truly become young mathematicians! Whether it was our Kindergarteners grouping 100 items into sets of ten or our 5th graders calculating the percentage of the school year remaining, the engagement is palpable. Our students are showing curiosity as they solve problems and learning the power of communication as they explain the “why” behind their thinking to each other, both of which help them to understand that math is the language we use to understand the world around us. You can continue this learning at home too–from counting groceries to practicing multiplication during the morning commute, your support helps to build that culture of curiosity and helps our students feel confident taking risks in the classroom. We can’t wait to see where this momentum takes us!
Have a fantastic weekend!
