Dear Churchill Families,

As we enter March, our Churchill community has a lot to look forward to! This weekend, feel free to bring your family to the multicultural event at the Schaumburg Park District. There will be many District 54 students performing and lots of wonderful food to enjoy as a family.

Next week brings the start of our state testing, the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) for students in grades third through sixth. This is an important assessment that allows students to demonstrate their learning in Reading, Writing and Math. If you can, please limit tardies and appointments throughout the IAR window, to ensure students are able to take the assessment in the allotted time with their class.

Each year, schools across Illinois celebrate Respect Week (March 4 – 8th). Respect Week celebrates inclusion of all people, regardless of ability, in our schools and communities. You can help celebrate inclusion by having your child participate in our spirit week. The poster below has the colors and disabilities celebrated each day.

Finally, our MANE Event is coming up soon on March 20th from 5:00-6:30p. This event will showcase several engaging learning activities students participate in each day.  We will have popcorn for sale and our PTA will be running our Scholastic book fair in the gym. As a reminder, this is a family event, parents/guardians must come with their child(ren) to experience this event to showcase our Lion Pride

Have a great weekend,

Carol Novak & Evelisse Stob
